Prepare Me has obligations concerning the collection, use, disclosure and storage of personal information. Prepare Me is committed to protecting your privacy and has therefore developed this Policy to inform you how Prepare Me collects, uses, discloses and stores personal data and information you provide us.

(Note: while information about site visits such as IP address is not considered personal information, Prepare Me handles such information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.) 

How do we collect personal information?

Prepare Me will only collect and record personal information via this website if it is provided directly to us and is necessary for us to perform our functions or activities; for example Prepare Me will need to collect personal information, to send requested information, to provide regular news, or to act on feedback provided.

Prepare Me may collect sensitive information in regard to an individual's health where the information is reasonably necessary for the operation of Prepare Me's functions and services. Prepare Me will only collect sensitive information about an individual with the individual's consent.

  • when you register as a site or application user; 
  • when you provide feedback by email or by using the feedback form on our website; or
  • when you enter information using our online services, such as creating a health passport or calendar entry.
Can you remain anonymous?

You can always choose to deal with us anonymously (or by providing a pseudonym). However, if you choose to remain anonymous, this may affect your ability to access or use certain functions of our website or services.

We store most information about you in computer systems and databases operated by either us

Disclosure of personal information outside Australia

Some of the third parties to whom we disclose personal information may be located overseas in the USA and Singapore.

Prepare Me will take reasonable steps to ensure that any person to whom personal information is disclosed outside Australia will deal with that information in a way that is consistent with the APPs.

Prepare Me has systems and procedures in place to protect personal information from misuse and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

However, users are advised that there are inherent risks in transmitting information across the internet, including the risk that information sent to or from a website may be intercepted, corrupted or modified by third parties. Our sites have links to other websites not controlled or owned by us. Prepare Me is not responsible for these sites or any consequence of a person's use of those sites. In particular, Prepare Me is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of the operators of other websites. Prepare Me recommends that users review the privacy policies of those external websites before using them.

How can you access and correct your personal information?

Prepare Me has measures in place to ensure that the information we hold about a person is accurate, complete and up to date. If a person learns that personal information we hold about them is inaccurate, incomplete or not up to date they should contact us so that the information can be updated.

If you wish to see what information Prepare Me has about you, you can ask for a copy of it. Sometimes it may not be possible to give you a copy of the information if it was provided anonymously, if it contains details about other people, or if it would be unsafe to provide the information (for instance, if it may lead to harm being done to another person).
